Acetic Acid 0.6% Solution is a sterile, dilute aqueous solution of glacial acetic acid prepared to a concentration of 0.6% v/v in water. It is used extensively in research laboratories as a reconstitution solvent for peptides with low aqueous solubility at neutral pH, most notably insulin-like growth factors and related analogues. The acidic pH of the solution (approximately 3.5–4.0) protonates basic residues in certain peptide sequences, improving initial solubility prior to dilution in neutral buffers. It is produced to research-grade standards and independently verified by third-party HPLC analysis before dispatch.
