What is TB-500?
TB-500 is a synthetic peptide made of seven amino acids, carrying a chemical cap known as an acetyl group. Mass spectrometry has confirmed that the product contains this capped sequence, Ac-LKKTETQ. The sequence copies the part of a larger natural protein, thymosin beta-4, that binds actin. Actin is a protein involved in cell movement and structure, and that part of thymosin beta-4 has been identified as one of its several active sites. Research on the seven-amino-acid sequence covers cell migration, new blood vessel growth and wound repair, and research on the capped product itself covers how it is broken down and detected in the body.

TB-500 Research & Reference
What TB-500 does in published studies, and how to work with it in the laboratory, are covered in full on two dedicated pages rather than summarised here, so neither the evidence nor the handling detail is cut short.
Certificates of Analysis
Every batch is tested by an independent laboratory before release. The certificate covering this batch of TB-500, and its safety data sheet, are below as PDFs, so the figures on this page can be checked against the source.
TB-500 or Thymosin Beta-4: which do you need?
These are two different molecules, and the names are often used interchangeably elsewhere. They are not interchangeable here.
TB-500 is a synthetic seven-amino-acid peptide, Ac-LKKTETQ (889.02 g/mol, CAS 885340-08-9). It corresponds to residues 17–23 of Thymosin Beta-4 (the actin-binding region) and is supplied as that fragment alone.
Thymosin Beta-4 is the full-length 43-amino-acid peptide (4,963.44 g/mol, CAS 77591-33-4), supplied intact.
Most of the published repair-biology literature was generated using the full-length peptide. Work specifically on the isolated actin-binding fragment is a smaller body of research. If you are reproducing a published protocol, check which of the two the paper used: the two are not always distinguished in the literature either.
Each is supplied with a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis stating the molecular weight and CAS for the material in the vial.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is TB-500 independently tested for purity?+−
Yes. Every batch of TB-500 is tested by an independent third-party laboratory using HPLC and MS-UPLC, confirming purity and mass identity before the batch is released. Pure Peptides does not test its own material.
Can I see the Certificate of Analysis before buying?+−
Yes. The Certificate of Analysis for the batch currently in stock can be viewed and downloaded directly on this page, before you place an order. Each certificate states the batch number, the measured purity, and the date of analysis, and can be verified independently with the issuing laboratory using the report number it carries.
What does "Research Use Only" mean?+−
It means TB-500 is supplied for in-vitro laboratory research and for no other purpose, and must not be administered to humans or animals. TB-500 is legal to purchase in the United States for in vitro and non-clinical laboratory research. It carries no FDA approval or therapeutic indication for human use. TB-500 is not a scheduled substance under the Controlled Substances Act. Sold strictly for qualified research use, not human or veterinary administration.
How is TB-500 shipped and stored?+−
TB-500 ships from US stock with cold-chain packaging and full tracking; orders placed before noon EST on business days are typically dispatched the same business day. On arrival, store the lyophilized powder at -20°C or below, dry and protected from light.
