What is Pure-RTA-3?
Pure-RTA-3 is a single peptide, a chain of 39 amino acids made in a laboratory, with a fatty-acid chain attached. It came out of an industry research program and appears in published research under its development code. It switches on the receptors for three of the body's own hormones: GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon. In cell tests, its activity at the glucagon and GLP-1 receptors was balanced, with more activity at the GIP receptor. In strips of human heart muscle removed during heart surgery, it made the muscle contract more strongly, and the study's authors suggested it did so through its own receptors. It has been tested in cells, in donated human tissue and in mice, and studies in people have been published.
Pure-RTA-3 Research & Reference
What Pure-RTA-3 does in published studies, and how to work with it in the laboratory, are covered in full on two dedicated pages rather than summarised here, so neither the evidence nor the handling detail is cut short.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Pure-RTA-3 third-party tested for purity?+−
Yes. Every batch of Pure-RTA-3 is tested by an independent third-party laboratory using HPLC and MS-UPLC, confirming purity and mass identity before the batch is released. Pure Peptides does not test its own material.
What does "Research Use Only" mean?+−
It means Pure-RTA-3 is supplied for in-vitro laboratory research and for no other purpose, and must not be administered to humans or animals.
How is Pure-RTA-3 shipped and stored?+−
Pure-RTA-3 ships from US stock with cold-chain packaging and full tracking; orders placed before noon EST on business days are typically dispatched the same business day. On arrival, store the lyophilized powder at -20°C or below, dry and protected from light.
What does "triple agonist" mean for Pure-RTA-3?+−
An agonist is a molecule that switches a receptor on. Pure-RTA-3 is a single peptide that activates three receptors, the ones for GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon, rather than a blend of three separate peptides.
How does Pure-RTA-3 differ from Pure-TRZ-2?+−
Both are 39-amino-acid peptides with a C20 fatty-acid side chain attached through γ-glutamic acid, and both end in a C-terminal amide. Pure-TRZ-2 activates the GIP and GLP-1 receptors, while Pure-RTA-3 activates the glucagon receptor as well. In the chain, Pure-RTA-3 has α-methyl-L-leucine at position 13 where Pure-TRZ-2 has Aib, and it carries its side chain on lysine 17 with one AEEA spacer, where Pure-TRZ-2 carries it on lysine 20 with two.
What do the catalog reference and CAS number identify?+−
Both identify the same single molecule: the 39-amino-acid peptide with a fatty-acid side chain on lysine 17. The catalog reference is the development code under which the molecule appears in published research, including the paper that reported its discovery. The CAS number is the molecule's entry in the Chemical Abstracts Service registry.
What is GLP-3?+−
The human body makes GLP-1 and GLP-2, but no hormone called GLP-3. Online, the name is used informally for triple agonists such as Pure-RTA-3, which activates the GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors.
