What is Adipotide?
Adipotide is two peptides joined end to end. The first half is a nine-residue motif. It sticks to prohibitin, a protein found on the blood vessels that supply white fat. The second half breaks up membranes and sets off cell death once it gets inside. The idea is that the first half takes the second half to one tissue. Both halves turn up in many other builds. Results from those are not results for this one.
Technical Specs
Labeled quantity is net peptide content, not gross salt weight.
Adipotide Research & Reference
What Adipotide does in published studies, and how to work with it in the laboratory, are covered in full on two dedicated pages rather than summarised here, so neither the evidence nor the handling detail is cut short.
Certificates of Analysis
Every batch is tested by an independent laboratory before release. The certificate covering this batch of Adipotide, and its safety data sheet, are below as PDFs, so the figures on this page can be checked against the source.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Adipotide independently tested for purity?+−
Yes. Every batch of Adipotide is tested by an independent third-party laboratory using HPLC and MS-UPLC, confirming purity and mass identity before the batch is released. Pure Peptides does not test its own material.
Can I see the Certificate of Analysis before buying?+−
Yes. The Certificate of Analysis for the batch currently in stock can be viewed and downloaded directly on this page, before you place an order. Each certificate states the batch number, the measured purity, and the date of analysis, and can be verified independently with the issuing laboratory using the report number it carries.
What does "Research Use Only" mean?+−
It means Adipotide is supplied for in-vitro laboratory research and for no other purpose, and must not be administered to humans or animals.
How is Adipotide shipped and stored?+−
Adipotide ships from US stock with cold-chain packaging and full tracking; orders placed before noon EST on business days are typically dispatched the same business day. On arrival, store the lyophilized powder at -20°C or below, dry and protected from light.
What are the two halves of adipotide?+−
Adipotide is one molecule made of two joined sequences. CKGGRAKDC is a homing motif found by screening in live mice; it binds prohibitin, a protein on the blood vessels that supply white fat. D(KLAKLAK)2 is a pro-apoptotic sequence that disrupts membranes once inside a cell. A glycine-glycine linker joins them. Both sequences appear in many unrelated research constructs, so a result reported for either one on its own is not a result for adipotide.
Has adipotide been studied in people?+−
No published human study of adipotide was located for this page. The published work is in mice and in obese monkeys. A first-in-man phase 1 record exists on the public trials register under identifier NCT01262664, and this page makes no claim about its status or outcome because that record has not been read.
