What is Pal-GHK?

Pal-GHK is a peptide of three residues, glycine-histidine-lysine. A long fatty chain is joined to one end of it. Its cosmetic-ingredient name is palmitoyl tripeptide-1. The fatty chain is the whole point of the change. The bare peptide is water-loving, so it does not cross the outer layer of skin easily. A greasy tail changes that. GHK-Cu, listed separately here, is the same three residues holding a copper ion instead. It is a different molecule, with far more research behind it.

Pal-GHK Research & Reference

What Pal-GHK does in published studies, and how to work with it in the laboratory, are covered in full on two dedicated pages rather than summarised here, so neither the evidence nor the handling detail is cut short.

The safety data sheet for Pal-GHK is below as a PDF, in the 16-section GHS format covering identification, hazards, handling, storage and disposal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Pal-GHK independently tested for purity?+

Yes. Every batch of Pal-GHK is tested by an independent third-party laboratory using HPLC and MS-UPLC, confirming purity and mass identity before the batch is released. Pure Peptides does not test its own material.

What does "Research Use Only" mean?+

It means Pal-GHK is supplied for in-vitro laboratory research and for no other purpose, and must not be administered to humans or animals. Pal-GHK is legal to purchase in the United States for in vitro and non-clinical laboratory research. It has no FDA approval and no approved human use. It is a cosmetic ingredient and no approved medicine containing it was located. Pal-GHK is not a scheduled substance under the Controlled Substances Act. Sold strictly for qualified research use, not human or veterinary administration.

How is Pal-GHK shipped and stored?+

Pal-GHK ships from US stock with cold-chain packaging and full tracking; orders placed before noon EST on business days are typically dispatched the same business day. On arrival, store the lyophilized powder at -20°C or below, dry and protected from light.

What is the difference between Pal-GHK and GHK-Cu?+

Both start from the same three-residue peptide, glycyl-histidyl-lysine. GHK-Cu holds a copper ion. Pal-GHK carries a sixteen-carbon fatty acid chain instead. The copper is what most of the proposed mechanism for GHK-Cu rests on; the fatty chain is what changes how the molecule crosses skin. They are different molecules and a result reported for one is not a result for the other. GHK-Cu is listed separately here and has roughly 206 indexed records.

How much research names this compound?+

Very little, and in none of it was the compound tested on its own. In one study it was an analytical reference standard used to measure a different peptide. In one it was among at least five ingredients in an uncontrolled study. In one it was among three components of a combination. One further study used the palmitoylated copper form, which is a different molecule again. A review of exactly this question describes a surprising absence of clinical studies using it.
