What is Vilon?
Vilon is a synthetic two-amino-acid peptide (Lys-Glu) from the same Russian bioregulator program as Vesugen and Epithalon. It is studied in animal research for its effects on immune signaling, particularly in thymus and bone-marrow tissue.
- A synthetic dipeptide (Lys-Glu) from the Russian organ-targeted bioregulator program
- Studied for its effects on thymus and bone-marrow immune signaling in aging models
- Animal studies have looked at immune-signaling markers and lifespan
- Studied alongside Epithalon and other bioregulators from the same program
For research use only. Not approved for human therapeutic use.
Vilon, also known by its dipeptide designation KE (Lys-Glu), is a synthetic dipeptide bioregulator with the molecular formula C11H21N3O5 and a molecular weight of 275.30 g/mol. Defined by the amino acid sequence Lys-Glu (L-Lysyl-L-Glutamic acid), Vilon is one of the shortest peptides in the Khavinson bioregulator series, a two-residue dipeptide alongside Thymogen (Glu-Trp), and was developed as a synthetic dipeptide analogue derived from thymalin, the calf-thymus polypeptide preparation studied in the same Russian bioregulator programme. Its structure pairs a basic lysine residue with an acidic glutamic acid residue.
Vilon has been investigated in preclinical immunology as an ultra-short peptide bioregulator, with published research characterizing a proposed mechanism of gene-expression modulation through direct DNA interaction rather than cell surface receptor binding. A 2014 Russian-language review proposes a role for the Lys-Glu dipeptide and the tetrapeptide epitalon in regulating the aging-associated genes CCL11 (eotaxin) and HMGB1 (alarmin); the authors themselves present this as a proposed mechanism rather than a measured effect, and describe the direction of the effect inconsistently [1]. In vivo rodent studies have investigated the KE dipeptide in long-term aging protocols, with published research documenting that chronic administration of the Lys-Glu dipeptide inhibited the growth of spontaneous tumors and increased life span in mice, characterizing Vilon as a geroprotective agent across an extended-observation aging protocol [2], making Vilon a key reference compound in peptide bioregulator research examining ultra-short dipeptide modulation of gene expression and gerontological endpoints in preclinical models.
Vilon is produced to research-grade standards and independently verified by third-party HPLC and MS-UPLC analysis before dispatch. Vials are vacuum sealed and stored in a temperature controlled, monitored cold storage system. Certificates of Analysis are available to view and download directly on the product page.
Sold strictly for in vitro research purposes only. Not for human consumption. Intended for use by qualified researchers in laboratory settings only.
