Pinealon is a synthetic peptide of three amino acids, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and arginine, written Glu-Asp-Arg or EDR. It is one of the very short peptides developed at the St Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology. Research on it is small in volume but, unusually for this group of compounds, published in English. It covers three areas: where the peptide goes once inside a cell, how cells cope with oxidative stress in its presence, and one study in rats.
