Ovagen is a synthetic tripeptide bioregulator with a molecular weight of 375.37 g/mol. Developed at the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology as part of the Khavinson peptide bioregulator series, Ovagen was designed based on peptide fractions associated with hepatic and ovarian tissue. As a tripeptide bioregulator, Ovagen falls between the dipeptide (Vilon, Thymagen, Vesilute) and tetrapeptide (Epithalon, Cortagen, Testagen) compounds within the Khavinson series. Like other bioregulators in this class, Ovagen is proposed to modulate tissue-specific gene expression through direct DNA interaction rather than conventional receptor-mediated signalling. Produced via solid-phase peptide synthesis, Ovagen is associated with hepatic and reproductive tissue gene expression pathways.

Ovagen is a tissue-specific tripeptide bioregulator within the Khavinson framework. Its proposed mode of is a defining, experimentally documented property of the Khavinson ultrashort-peptide class: fluorescently labelled short peptides of this family penetrate into the cell nucleus and bind genomic DNA in a sequence-selective manner, providing a structural basis for peptide-directed modulation of gene activity [1]. Ovagen is studied as a hepato-gastrointestinal-tropic geroprotector under the tissue-specific bioregulator concept, in which organ-derived short peptides are investigated for the capacity to counteract age-associated changes in their target tissue [2]. The strongest EDL-specific in vivo evidence indexed to date is nephroprotective: in models of acute kidney injury, EDL administration was associated with preserved renal function, attenuation of oliguria and azotaemia, and maintenance of antioxidant defence [3], making Ovagen a reference compound in preclinical hepato-gastrointestinal research examining tissue-specific epithelial regeneration, age-associated decline in hepatic and intestinal protein synthesis, and organ-specific short-peptide regulation of gastrointestinal homeostasis.

Ovagen is manufactured in a cGMP compliant, ISO9001 certified laboratory to a guaranteed purity of 98% or above. Every batch is independently tested using HPLC and MS-UPLC analysis before dispatch. Vials are vacuum sealed and stored in a temperature controlled, monitored cold storage system. Certificates of Analysis are available on request.

Sold strictly for in vitro research purposes only. Not for human consumption. Intended for use by qualified researchers in laboratory settings only.
