What is Bronchogen?
Bronchogen is a very short peptide, a chain of just four amino acids. It comes from a Russian research program in St Petersburg that has built a series of these short peptides since the 1970s. Each peptide in that series is its own compound, with its own chain and its own studies. Bronchogen has been studied in cells grown from human airway tissue and in test-tube work on how it sticks to DNA. It has also been tested on small pieces of rat tissue kept alive in a dish, in two studies of a lung disease model in rats, and on tobacco plant cultures. Two small Russian reports gave it to patients with chronic lung disease.
