What is Pancragen?
Pancragen is a very short peptide, a chain of four amino acids. It comes from a Russian research program in St Petersburg that has built a series of these short chains since the 1970s. Chemists worked out its recipe from peptides found in the pancreas, the organ behind the stomach that makes insulin. It has been studied in pancreas cells grown in a dish, in rats made diabetic, and in nine old monkeys.
