What is IGF-1 LR3?

IGF-1 LR3 is a laboratory-made version of IGF-1, a growth factor the body produces in response to growth hormone. Two things have been changed. One building block near the front has been swapped for arginine, and a 13-link tail has been added to the front end. Native IGF-1 is 70 links long; this version is 83. Both changes were made to stop it sticking to the carrier proteins that normally hold IGF-1 in check.
