What is Thymalin?
Thymalin is not a single peptide. It is a mixture of small protein fragments pulled out of calf thymus tissue, so it has no one chain, no one weight and no chemical formula, and two batches are not guaranteed to contain exactly the same mixture. The group that developed it says its active parts are two very short chains, one two links long called KE and another two links long called EW. Those two are sold here on their own as Vilon and Thymagen. A result found with one of those two is a result for that chain and not for this mixture, and the same holds the other way round.

Thymalin is an extract rather than a synthesized peptide. It is a fraction of small polypeptides isolated from calf thymus tissue, so it contains several species rather than one, and no single sequence, molecular weight or molecular formula describes it. Its CAS number, 79621-14-0, identifies it by source and process instead. Batch-to-batch composition is not guaranteed to be identical.
Is Thymalin the same as Thymulin or Thymosin Alpha-1?+−
No. All three are separate. Thymulin is a defined nine-amino-acid peptide that is only active as a zinc complex. Thymosin Alpha-1 is a defined 28-amino-acid peptide with an acetylated N-terminus. Thymalin is neither of those; it is a polypeptide extract with no single structure. Research on any one of the three says nothing about the other two.
